Fence Repairs, Replacement Fencing & Gates around Wells
I repair, replace and install garden fencing across Wells and Somerset, from a single damaged fence post to a complete new boundary. I provide practical, long-lasting solutions built with care and attention to detail.

Garden Fencing Installation
Strong, well-installed fencing can make a garden feel safer, tidier and more private. I install garden fencing with care, taking time over setting out, post depth, fixings and finish so the fence looks right and lasts well.

Charltons Timber Fencing
For good-quality, well-priced timber fencing, I often use materials from Charltons Timberstore, a respected local timber merchant and sawmill. Their LongLast ground-contact posts are a strong option for many gardens and come with a 15-year manufacturer warranty against rot.
Feather Edge Fencing
Feather edge fencing is a strong, traditional choice for garden boundaries, especially in exposed areas. Built with posts, rails and overlapping boards, it creates a solid, private fence that can cope well with everyday garden use.
Slatted Contemporary Fencing
Slatted fencing gives a more modern look while still letting light and air through. It works well for screening, dividing garden areas or creating a cleaner, more contemporary boundary without making the space feel too closed in.
Garden Gates
I install strong, well-fitted garden gates to suit the fence and the space. Gates can be supplied in standard sizes or made to measure where the opening, style or garden layout needs something more specific.
Fence Replacement & Repairs
Not every damaged fence needs replacing. I can repair broken posts, replace damaged panels, strengthen tired sections or advise when a full replacement would be better value.
Professional Installation
Good fencing is not just about the timber used, but also how it is installed. Accurate setting out, careful fixing and attention to detail all play an important role in how well a fence performs over time.
I take care to ensure posts are set at the correct depth, typically at least 60 cm, and are firmly supported with adequate post mix concrete. Posts are positioned carefully so the fence line runs straight and panels sit level. Where timber needs to be cut, the ends are treated to help protect the wood against premature rot.
I also use exterior-grade screws and nails designed for outdoor use, helping prevent rust and keeping the fence secure over time.
Much of this may sound like straightforward work, but these small details make a big difference to how well a fence performs in the long term. Taking the time to install fencing properly helps ensure it remains straight, stable and reliable for many years.

“a beautiful Venetian slatted garden fence – Ryan was very helpful with helping us to decide on the style and very patient while we were making up our minds. He and Stuart worked very professionally throughout, even during the searing heatwave, leaving the place clean and tidy every evening and on completion of the job-thoroughly recommend them.“
